Which ATV Clutch Kit Do I Need?

Choose by model, tyre size and use.

Vauhti Varikko describes clutch kits as a way to match CVT behaviour to the machine’s tyres and workload. The right choice depends on the exact model, model year, current clutch setup and how you ride.

Trail or Adventure?

Stage 3 Trail / Trail & Work: the manufacturer positions this range around responsive power delivery and throttle control for trails and working use.

Stage 3 Adventure: the manufacturer describes a lower cruising-rpm, torque-focused setup for longer trips and general riding.

Mud and large-tyre setups: choose the kit specified for your actual tyre diameter and model. A larger spring or different helix is not a universal upgrade for every machine.

Why tyre size matters

Vauhti Varikko explains that larger, heavier tyres alter CVT loading. Unsuitable settings can make the transmission shift too early and increase belt stress. Spring and helix selection affect belt grip and shifting behaviour; inspect the belt and clutch condition when planning changes.

Send us these details before ordering

  • Make, full model and model year, including generation or variant.
  • Tyre make and actual size.
  • Trail, work, touring or mud use, plus typical loads.
  • Existing ECU tune, clutch changes and belt details.
  • A photo of the machine’s identification and current clutch where helpful.

Kit names and stage numbers do not guarantee compatibility. Check the specific product’s fitment, contents and installation instructions. A clutch kit changes power delivery; it does not by itself add engine horsepower. Manufacturer performance descriptions are not a guaranteed result for every machine.

Match the exact kit

For example, our CFORCE 850/1000 G3 Trail kit lists 26–29-inch tyres, while the G3 Mud kit lists 29–34-inch tyres. Confirm the exact kit and machine together; do not transfer these ranges to other models.
